Ashton's Human Foster Dad Died

.. I received news that Ashton's my permanent foster placement has had his foster Dad die.. leaving him with his foster Mom.. and Ginger ( the basset ) I think he will mourn this passing for a while as his Dad was the main one to walk him ectra.. It just goes to show you how easily circumstances change..

.. I hope that this doesn't mean Ashton will be shuffled.. I guess I'll wait and see.. These folks have/had been very good permanent foster's for him.. fingers crossed he remains with the Mom and Ginger his pal..

Ah A Sweet Little Girl .. Cheri

.. This lovely 7 month old girl came to me last weekend.. sadly was suffering from a Urinary Tract Infection and having not been spayed.. So she was spayed and is on a round of antibiotics for 14 days.. this will clear up that problem.. She was quite sleepy yesterday after I picked her up.. poor girl.. she just was thirsty.. no food but today she is back up and busy.. Hoover and Micky we glad to see her return.. they are just great with newbies..Now the task is to find her a forever home with loving parents.. I'm sure the Universe will be on the lookout for them..

Casper Has A Forever Home WooHooo

.. Well it took a little time but beautiful Casper has his new family.. There was no question in the minds of this lovely family of four how he captured their heart.. They were so taken by this boy.. his good looks and funny character .. as usual no one can ever understand people that abandon bassets and leave them out in bitter weather to fend for themselves..

.. He was frostbitten on his paws as well his backside sadly.. He wears boots that help with his paws and hopefully by next winter his paws will be able to adapt to the cold and if not he will continue to wear them..

.. I am thrilled once again that the Universe has provided a loving home for a rescued basset.. Bravo powers that be..

Scams With Dogs

.. Recently I received an email asking if BHRQ would accept a litter of unwanted dachshunds.. I answered saying I could try to place them but needed more details.. ie: how many.. where they were.. how old.. the usual queries..

.. The following day I get an answer to my inquiry stating that they are in Bangkok Thailand.. and they wanted a $50.00 fee per pup and they would arrange the travel.. Now I shook my head.. what a SCAM these folks are running.. Shame on them..
.. I hope no one gets sucked in by these scam artists..

Wow We Are In The Deep Freeze -31

.. Well today its -31 freezing not at all like a couple of days back that found Percy outside chompin on a rawhide bone.. with Hoovy and Micky close by..


Then he saw me coming to investigate and told me to get lost .. HaHa

Casper.. Another Abandoned Basset

Imagine this handsome boy left abandoned in our severe weather .. he ended up with frost bitten feet plus.. Sad people do this.. he deserved so much better.. Well at least now he has a chance at a better life.. He is on the mend.. his spirit has escalated and can forgive mankind for his abandonment..

How blessed I am to have another chance to change a bassets life.. I.m sure Casper will blossom now..

2009 Begins

.. Well a new year has dawned and I am up for the challenge.. Bassets are still in need and some suffering in silence.. Its heart breaking.. Last year was truly an eye opener to how great the need was.. there were 30+ bassets placed by B.H.R.Q... quite a feat..

.. This year I hope to work with more FOSTER's .. a support system is key for rescue just in case it snowballs like last year .. I will do my best for whatever bassets come my way again..
