... Humphrey was a stray PBGV found in Ontario he came in looking like this..
He was brought into rescue in Ontario and then given to a couple of fosters up there.. unfortunately what ever his past was it left deep scars.. The fosters he was placed with could not handle him the second one ended up abusing him because of his stubbornness and he bit her that immediately sent him to Animal Control Toronto where he was to be put down as an aggressive dog.. Well I got a call about him asking if I could help this basset.. Of course I would try but fear aggression is a tough trait to deal with.. So I found a behaviorist/trainer in Kitchener who would work with him.. Months have passed with little success and a basset living daily in fear is no matter to take lightly.. they are the most NON-aggressive dogs out there.. However Humphrey's abuse was so embedded that he suffered terribly.. After allot of back and forth with the behaviorist and his making so little progress still needing to be muzzled as you can see he's not happy..
.. I made a painful decision .. Humphrey was to be released from his own private hell.. So yesterday afternoon in a quiet room on the couch Humphrey passed.. Hopefully now Across The Bridge.. he can run and play without fear..Rest n Peace Humphrey..

I'm so sorry Helen - but you did absolutely everything possible for the little one. Be at peace, this was the only decision possible.
