WooHoo.. Charlotte Has A Forever Home

.. Well my girl Charlotte has won the heart of a new family and Mom.. as well she has a younger sister Poppy a basset/beagle 18 months.. I knew she had the character but I worried many would be taken aback by her pregnancy figure.. as a basset just used for breeding she rarely had a minute to recover before she was with pups again.. so her nipples hung real low..



But low and behold.. the Powers that Be.. sent a wonderful lady " Aurore " to see her with her daughter.. I felt it was love at first site.. when she saw her live and in person.. pictures are never like the "real" thing.. Charlotte is a beauty thats why the breeder tried to cash in on her..
.. Anyways this story ended well Charlotte's HOME..

Little Alyson

.. My little friend Alyson is back in hospital .. her last chemo treatments have made her sick enough that she cannot even eat.. So she will be there for a while.. She misses Betty terribly and asks her Dad all the time to hug her and give kisses.. She worry's more about Betty than herself..

Shortly after I delivered her gift of Betty.. their home computer broke.. now this family is constantly struggling to make ends meet as Alyson needs 24/7 care with her very rare leukemia.. Dad cannot afford a new one that so there is no way for Alyson to see her Betty remotely.. I was sad hearing that news as I know how much better she does with Betty in her life.. I pray she gets well and gets back home to Betty .. for this is the one thing Alyson thrives with.. Betty is her constant companion.. She cannot go to school.. or play with other kids.. Her immune system is so compromised..
If You are reading this.. PLEASE add Alyson to your thoughts and prayers..

Percy

.. Well let me tell you a little about my Percy.. I loved him the minute I saw him at the rescue.. He was very handsome I could not understand WHY he was there.. I mean look at this boy..



He has grown so deep in my heart.. He has quite a character.. His favorite food is chicken legs


dessert he likes Mr.Wiggins cookies.. he got a package of them in the mail one day..

They were gone in no time..


Percy is also quite a ham.. he likes to look at himself.. he thinks no one sees him..



He was quiet content when it was just him and I.. but then one day last November.. Hoover came along.. Percy's life would never be the same.. I mean look at this face..how could I resist when the rescue called me yet again



Prior he just slept with ..



Then February Micky Mouse came along .. and Hoover told her stories about Percy he was in love with this little girl from day one..



about his antics and hamming it up in the mirror.. How he didn't share cookies.. She really didn't care though.. as she just wanted to FIT IN.. and that she did..



Making it into the bed with us was a great stride.. for Percy really needs room.. but Micky found a little space to fit.. as you see.. and outside in winter well they are buddies too.. butt bonding and all..




Snow was deep last year they went out on teathers often to be safe.. It didn't matter they were happy together..



Yup Percy has come along way since that first day I got him.. As have I..



He turns 13 this November 4th.. still handsome as ever..



and enjoying life..

Charlotte Her New Lease On Life

.. Charlotte came from lousy beginnings as a BYB ( back yard breeders ) dog.. who after years of service.. pumping out puppies for profit was cast out.. However she has come along way.. from this shy little girl (Momma )



.. Where she wasn't sure of anything.. was suffering from an internal infection that was found during her spay surgery.. that required 10 days of antibiotics to heal.. She blossomed .. began to play.. and enjoy her new health and freedom from the chains of a puppy mill life.. She could run a little.. do stairs.. go for a short walk without getting to tired.. Yes this little girl paid her dues in those three to four years of breeding ..

.. Today you can see Charlotte like this.. Happy as a clam



.. She'll have her Forever Home.. and live the rest of her days with her BIG SMILE..

Update Aug. 22/08.. Charlotte has her Forever Home thanks to Aurore and Family.. Here is her playing with her new kid sister Poppy
and a loving glance.. Then she also has a BIG sister.. How great is that..

Updated today ( Sept 3 /08 ) to add Charlotte has gained 10 pounds.. Yay Charlotte..

My PBGV Wilson

.. What can I say about funny Wilson.. a picture can't say.. this 10 month old has a personality all his own.. yes a basset hound but with different traits.. his scenting is above and beyond.. but its his character that stood out here at the rescue.. He has a cuddle bug side.. loves to give kisses and get hugs.. I mean look at this guy..



is he cute or what.. most thought this PBGV was a mutt.. as he doesn't resemble the " norm " for a basset.. Anyways he too has a wonderful loving " Forever Home " with a step sister Jackie.. and a step brother LouLou ( An Irish Wolf Hound )





Yes the small and the tall of things.. haha.. Wilson fits in very well with these two as well their human family.. The Universe knew again to bring a wonderful home to BHRQ..

A Quiet Night

.. Its pretty quiet around here tonight.. I'm down to 5 dogs.. my three and just two rescues.. from 8 a few days back.. Its amazing to me how things have worked out these last few days.. Forever Homes were found.. my rescues hit the jackpot with each and everyone.. I feel so blessed .. these little lost Spirits showed up here .. not knowing why or what their fate might be.. nor did I to be honest.. but I am aware that everything has a reason.. these little ones were meant to play some kind of roll in my life as well where they came from and have gone.. The circle of life on life's terms I guess.. How lucky are we to be a part of it.. I know my life is richer for it..

Hark.. I hear them shuffling around.. guess I best go check..

Sherlock's Turn Today

.. This is Sherlock.. ( I call him Wigglie Worm HaHa ) he was turned in at 12 weeks.. from Levi Quebec.. He was a real sweetie.. shy with the other ones I had here as he was small.. but that changed .. They love him as he is quite a character..



.. As luck would have it.. a " Forever Home " presented itself.. My little Sherlock will have a big step sister a basset called Gracie.. she's 8 months old and needs a buddy to grow with and to play with.. The Mom is a stay at home Mom.. with two boys 10 and 12.. So this will be a wonderful situation for this guy..

I would have loved to keep him as two months with him has left quite an impression on my heart.. as well my personal bassets.. Hoover and Micky Mouse..

They will be sad to have him gone.. but I know in my heart as well he will be WELL taken care of.. and as this is my plan for all the bassets that Grace my house/rescue.. I could not ask for more..
