.. HaHa.. This gang of pups is growing like weeds they are up to 15 cups of food daily plus goats milk.. they are looking great actually.. but the poop is keeping me quite busy.. Hoover is doing a wonderful job as a big brother to these rescues.. see for yourself..

He just loves them..
.. Today I received a call from one of my adoptive parents.. she said.. " Oh Helen.. Boggie died yesterday " Now Boggie was a senior rescue last spring.. he was about 8 or 9 .. but a good boy.. I remember picking him up at the local SPCA.. a stray found in the South Shore of Montreal.. he was in sad shape.. but I knew someone who loves senior bassets and would welcome him openly.. She did and they spent this last year as buddies .. she even moved her bed so he could get on it easily.. as he suffered from arthritis.. However it wasn't that .. that took his life.. it was that silent killer cancer.. he had it in the pancreas they tried treatment but within three weeks he was over Rainbow Bridge.. I fell so bad for both of them.. this senior lady loved him so.. but she said to me.. she would still not trade the time they did have for anything.. Yes she loved her boy.. R.I.P. Boggie
.. So peaceful as they nap..

Meet Webster.. He was left in an apartment for a week alone with just toilet water.. He is skinny and in need of a stable foster or adoptee.. He has arthritis at 3 months he needed surgery to fix a joint.. he gets glucosamine daily .. He really deserves a good home.. If he interests you please be in touch
.. My Hoover has become a great foster Dad to this gang of pups.. I am so proud of him.. They just love him..

Yes a good foster dad
.. If anyone out there can foster PLEASE let me know.. I fear there may be lots of bassets abandoned or worse..
Thanks
.. Well its Valentine's and my gang got their traditional chicken legs which they wolfed down... Well not Percy he likes to take his time and savor every bite.. Micky finished first then Hoover.. In the mean while the pups were chowing down on their breakfast of gruel..
Now its 10:16 am and everyone is asleep/napping so I'm catching up here.. I cannot believe my eyes everyday they seem a bit bigger.. I love watching them tussle and bark they try everything to play.. I got them some stuffies but baby size and they carry them around like a prize.. Its all so good for the spirit.. Well I have to go clean up now .. its my chance..
.. Well the Universe strikes again.. a friend has set up a website to do a raffle to raise funds for the pups.. One part is for a Basket of goodies like this with T Shirts .. goats milk soap +++
..
The second part is to " Name A Pup " You can read the details at this website..

Thanks Meg
.. Well as usual the Universe brought me the luck I needed for this PBGV.. Last night a volunteer trainer/behavior therapist agreed to foster and help him.. So he will leave Toronto tomorrow and settle into his new digs.. There he will be well taken care of and loved.. as well cleaned up.. Presently he looks quite scruffy.. like this..
to this how he should look ..
.. yes quite dramatic.. and I couldn't be happier for this fellow..
People that throw away or abuse animals just bugs the **** out of me.. I just don't understand.. and probably never will.. however by the Grace of God.. this boy will live to get his own family to love him when he's ready for adoption.. If your interested in him please email me..
.. Today has been a bit crazy.. their is a 4 year old PBGV in need in Toronto that I have been made aware of.. he was in a local rescue there came in as a stray and placed in a foster home that did not know this breed.. Well he ended up being abused which lead to him nipping the person.. Well now he sits in animal control with a death sentence.. WHY.. because of ignorance to this breed of dog.. and a bad placement..
I have been frantically trying to get some help for him before time is out.. his euthanasia day is Feb.14th. So needless to say even though I'm in Quebec I'll help out where ever I can when a basset is at risk.. Keep your fingers crossed I can save this little guy..
This is one reason we in RESCUE try to get the best understanding fosters that we can.. its a crucial cog in the rescue wheel..
.. I always am in need of fosters so if you can please email me..
.. I sware I have never picked up so much soft serve in my life.. these gang are poop machines.. and have little regard to walking it over my shoes ectra.. So today I decided to give them baths.. haha was this experience a hoot.. everyone of them reacted differently .. one whined.. one was desperate to get out.. one just hugged the side of the booster bath.. one tried to crawl out.. but they all wanted to drink the soapy great smelling water .. I would finish one towel him/her dry and seek out another all the while watching out for land mines.. Its not easy walking among them I am very ginger when I do.. In any case they all got their bath.. then I sat on the floor with them on a warm blanket as they were damp.. shot the heat up.. they all crawled on me and napped.. I loved it..
Footnote: I loose so much time with this gang.. but who can resist puppies..
